This book contains more supplemental information, when buying a home, the more info the better, esp. if it can save you money.
Great. Like most Dummies books, very informative if you know nothing about your subject. Which is exactly how much I knew.
While some of the advice like using real estate as an investment or selling your home is not in depth chapters they do help with some basics and Dummies does have books for sale on these topics alone. They even discuss some aspects of real estate investing in case you're interested and give advice for after the fact savings and simple ways to help you after you move in.The book starts off with before even consulting that all important buyers' agent with helpful financial advice and savings tips. The chapters deal with some questions you may have and give advice for further thought and searching if you're interested. Home Buying for Dummies stresses facts like not using the same buyer and seller's agent or even agents from the same realty.Home Buying for dummies goes through the whole process and helps you with facts and advice so you make the right decisions in this high cost purchase.

Better yet, it does so in an understandable, but not oversimplified manner. A guide to home buying in the classic "for Dummies" format. Starting from absolute scratch, I personally found the book invaluable in purchasing my first home. This book covers the basics and the not-so-basics of residential home buying and provides a step-by-step guide to purchasing your own house. Among other topics, the book provides valuable advise regarding how to get started, how to select an agent, how to shop for a mortgage and so forth. Home Buying for Dummies is certainly not the final word in real estate, but it provides sufficient and highly usable information for the first-time home buyer. Read it before you meet with a buyer's agent and you can't help but get off to a great start.
